Bowman Scholars

Bowman Scholars was my first commission, both I and the client were very pleased with the final outcome. Bowman Scholars was a program established in 2020 to provide programming and assistance for high achieving, first-generation students. The program desired a meaningful, established and traditional logo and brand.

Through my research I found that shields emit ‘traditional’ logos. I used private school emblems as inspirations. The majority of them had shields, and in those shields, icons that had deep meaning to the specific institution.

Emblem

The shield represents how the Bowman Scholars program protects first generation students for the quirks of the college application process. While the students are in the program they are nurtured by the college counselors by helping them in anyway possible.(motherly love) The programs takes the students in with open arms and gives them a helping hand so they can reach their full potential that why everything is surrounded by a shield.

Fun Fact: they are 3 shields in the logo, can you find them?
